Have you ever chased the fog? To take him by surprise, I had to climb the mountain range twice. The morning fog, which seemed to have tightly enveloped the slopes of the peaks during the night, melted and dissipated with the first rays of the sun, slipping away into the valley like a white river.
The Carpathian fogs are an incredible and breathtaking sight. Capturing them in a frame is quite difficult. And, even if you managed to meet the fog and arrange a photo session for it, then slowly unfolding the tripod and photographing it with different lenses is definitely unlikely, since it can dissolve at any moment or the wind can dispel it. The thickest fogs are from the very morning, when it is just beginning to dawn, at this moment nature seems to freeze, hold its breath and become very quiet in the forest.
To take these photos, I spent 4 hours chasing fog in the mountains, smelling forest smells and fallen autumn leaves.
Silence intensifies melancholy, the senses of perception are greatly exacerbated – sight and hearing, there are very fuzzy silhouettes of trees around, it feels like you are in absolute isolation with yourself, as if in your subconscious.
The rays of the sun, passing through this elusive “milk” of fog, illuminate everything around so that it seems to you that you are in paradise. The grass was frosted underfoot from the night frost, and the stems were covered with a thin icy glaze.
If you stop, freeze and fall into a state of deep detachment, you can hear yourself

You begin to listen to all your sensations, the most insignificant changes, sounds and smells. The smells of fallen leaves, fresh needles and wet bark in a humid forest become clearer and more transparent.
Fog, like a wave, rolls in gusts on the slopes of the Carpathian Mountains, envelops the surrounding landscape, and after a minute nothing is visible.
Breath of autumn on the slopes of the nameless ridge in the eastern part of the Gorgan massif.
I love the autumn foggy Carpathians for their minimalism, for the peace, tranquility and silence that they share with me.
